Dead Band Running 5K is a Day of the Dead-themed glow race to support the Pope High School Band.
We have a great fast course that starts at Pope with our awesome drumline. There will be band students on course keeping the energy flowing with live stands tunes music. After the race you can enjoy free family fun: food, face painting and tattoos, photo ops and our own balloon artist! There will be medals for overall first place men and women, and 1st-3rd place in the standard age divisions. Don't like to run? That's ok! Come walk with us and enjoy a great evening out!
This event will help the Pope HS Band keep dues affordable and contribute to our truck fund to replace Bessie, our aging band truck. Pope Band Parent Association is a non-profit, tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organization that exists solely to support the needs of the Pope HS Band program.

EVENT DETAILS AND SCHEDULE
We have loads of free parking on campus, as well as indoor restrooms. Early packet pickup is at Road Runner Sports Merchant's Walk at 1311 Johnson Ferry Rd. on Friday, November 8 from 3-7 PM. All VIP shoppers get 20% off their purchase, and RRS will generously donate $1.50 to Pope Band for each packet picked up. Packets can also be picked up race day starting at 4 PM at Pope HS. 5K STARTS AT 5PM.

DATE / VENUE / PARKING
The race is this Saturday, 11/9 at Pope High School, 3001 Hembree Rd in Marietta. Parking is available on campus, and the event setup will be in the band lot (back right corner of the property). Please note the parking area will be completely closed to parking by 4:45pm sharp, so please arrive early to avoid delays.
PACKET PICKUP
1. Friday 11/8 at Road Runner Sports, 1311 Johnson Ferry Rd in Marietta from 3-7pm. Come pick up your race bib and shirt early, save time on race day, and shop the exclusive sales! (See coupon below for details)
2. Saturday 11/9 at the start of the race beginning at 4pm.
Walkup registration is available at both locations, so if you have friends/family wanting to sign up, they can do so at that time.
RESTROOMS
Indoor restrooms are available at the school, adjacent to registration.
COURSE
The course starts on Hembree Rd, and heads East to Meadow Dr. where it turns right and comes back to Hembree Road. It will complete a second loop following the same path. After the second loop, runners will cross over Hembree Rd to finish in the band lot. You will pass the water stop twice.
AWARDS / START TIME
Awards will be given to overall male and female winners and top 3 M/F in 5 year age groups. Please note we do not mail awards so please plan accordingly. Awards will be determined based on gun time, or "First to the Finish" rule per USATF guidelines.
5K begins at 5pm sharp. Awards ceremony begins at 6pm.
